Mommy and Me Toddler Classes at The Iliad Academy Preschool
Everyone at The Iliad Academy Preschool is excited about our latest addition, A Mommy and Me Toddler Class! This class has been dreamt about for years, and with the new location at Yuma and Verrado Way inside the Desert Hills Church, it is finally a reality! Director, Eve Cunningham, has always seen a need and desire in the community for a class that helps bring families together with their children to discover new and exciting ways to help their child thrive, prepare for preschool, and connect with other families.
What are the Benefits of a Mommy and Me Toddler Class?
For eight years, The Iliad Academy has had a three’s/early four’s class and heard from parents that they weren’t sure what to do to prepare their little one to be away from home, how to make friends on their own, or how to foster a love for school. The Mommy and Me Toddler Class at The Iliad Academy strives to work towards all these goals while helping parents navigate the world of early childhood. In our Class your toddler will enjoy a semi-structured classroom environment that allows a parent an opportunity to help ease their child into their academic journey. They will socialize with other children through stories, songs, art, and play. They will be able to make friends with the comfort of their parent nearby. They will be able to get messy with their art in an environment where it’s not only allowed but encouraged. They will experience their parents joy in this environment and begin to understand that school is a safe, fun, and nurturing place to go and hopefully begin their love of learning and school.
Our weekly Mommy and Me Class also offer other benefits for both you and your toddler. During the 18-36 month age children experience rapid growth. Sometimes these new skills the toddler enjoys can also be a little scary for them creating separation anxiety and frustration because they can’t do something they want to do on their own or they don’t have the words to express their feelings. In our toddler class we create positive associations with school, friends, and teachers. We work alongside you to create a safe place for a child to practice sharing, peaceful play, and to build the critical foundations for them to communicate their feelings to their peers. You are able to walk alongside your child while they learn how to make friends with new children and utilize the support of an early education teacher.
Eve Cunningham, Early Education Professional With Over 30 Years of Experience
In addition to partnering with parents to support their toddler in their academic journey and emotional and social growth, Eve Cunningham also provides an environment where parents can feel supported and ask questions to help them navigate parenthood during the toddler/preschool years. We’ve all heard the saying, “It takes a village to raise a family”, well Eve has always wanted to support the village of parents by providing an opportunity to help each family give their child the best start in school. To reach this goal she has established an amazing preschool for your toddlers to graduate into. The Iliad Academy offers preschool and pre-kindergarten classes with specials that include: sign language, spanish, music, and P.E. Eve understands the importance of early education and has made it her life’s mission to provide quality education in the West Valley. Our two locations serve: Tonopah, Buckeye, Goodyear, Avondale, Litchfield Park, and Tolleson. Eve is proud to have the toddlers join our campus and looks forward to when we can welcome them into our preschool.
